Speed training exercises are to be included up in the syllabus of a coach. Specific components of speed development should be used with their athletes. Appropriate exercise with right scheduling and time is very essential to reach your goal. It will also have a major role to play in building up the confidence of athletes who are a little backward, or slow to catch up. There are plenty of speed training techniques popularly utilized by several coaches and trainers.

Arm action drill is the most important one regularly followed by people across the world. Arm problems are experienced by almost all athletes and there are plenty of exercises to ease up this popular problem. Doggy paddling is yet another aspect where the athletes turn their hands outward along the backswing of the arms and it was found to be a more useful practice instead of placing the palms in. Elbow breakage is one issue which is faced by athletes mostly and the angle opens up widely.

More force is to be applied to the ground to get enough acceleration and to stimulate the running speed. It depends on the law “Every action has an equal and opposite reaction”. Thus, the speed applied to the ground and the force plays a vital role in receiving the same action back. For this, the athletes should study about speed drills which lets you understand about the running mechanics in the best possible way. Some of them include ‘A’ March, ‘A’ Run, ‘A’ Skip and Fast Leg. They should try harder to apply their maximum strength and force to the ground. Only by being stronger, you can get faster.

Weight room can be depended upon for better stamina and strength. Some of the exercises to be depended upon are deadlift, hand clean and squat. This is all that you need for speed training and you should be focusing on your goals as you get everything by following the steps in proper sequence.
